From the Workroom - Scotties and Purses

Some days you just feel creative and this was one of these days.. I've been thinking about Scotties and Purses and thought that the two should go together on a lap quilt.  So in my stash I dive and pull out  blacks, whites and reds.. I had some black and red minky and thought "oh yes, gotta use that for sure" for texture..

2 - 14" squares feature my totally black scotties and 2 - 14" squares feature the purses.  Then I cut random 5" x 5" squares of prints which included black, red and white and then a larger piece 8-1/2" x 14" for the center..  This quilt went together pretty fast and the only major time spent was picking out the "right" fabrics..

Now, I'm looking for a border to place around the edge and Randy reminded me that we have on the bolt, small white daisies, red centers on black.. Should finish it at the retreat on Friday and will post the finished photos..

We will offer the "Scotties and Purses" as a kit the end of May, complete with fused pieces ready to iron down and applique with your favorite stitch.

Keeping you in stitches,
Phyllis
